I Pilot Dæmon - Happily Depressed

I Pilot Dæmon hails from Toulouse, France, and they play a really nice mix of Sludge, Post-Hardcore, and Screamo. The production on this album has seemed to leave a sour taste in most listeners mouths after listening. It's an unpolished, not to the point that it sounds like they recorded it with Windows Sound Recorder, rather the way Sludge recordings should sound: sloppy and dirty.

Sabertooth Zombie - The Only Good Politician is A Dead Politician

This was uploaded by my broski at Angry Music For Angry Souls, brademony. It features three songs that were on Midnight Venom, a track from the Dungeon Sessions split with Life Long Tragedy, and two songs that I haven't seen on any other STZ release. This version of Fragments has a pretty wikkid bass intro that makes it superior to the versions on Midnight Venom and Hang On. Enjoy.

P.S. Make sure to check out the STZ discography post on Angry Music For Angry Souls by Brademony.

Cloud. - Pimp Steak

I found this gem on blog that I frequent called Strictly Beats. It reminds me of J Dilla's Donuts a bit in terms of the samples that are used and the length of the songs.

Flying Lotus - Los Angeles

My first post in a long time will be one with one of my personal favorite beatmakers around right now, Flying Lotus. He mixes jazz, electronic sounding stuff, and latin music, and he does a really good job of it.

Ruiner - I Heard These Dudes Are Assholes

Tracklisting
1. Once Loved
2. Paint Peals
3. Adhering to Superstition
4. Lockjaw
5. Getting Over the Overs
6. Out Go the Candles
7. A Bridge Too Many
8. Six by Six
9. Dear Philadelphia
10. Sincerely
11. Paint Peals (Demo)
12. Adhering to Superstition (Demo)
13. Six by Six (Demo)
14. The Lives We Fear (Demo)

This is the latest release on B9 from Baltimore's own, Ruiner. This album is basically their first release, "What Could Possibly Go Right?", their half of the split they did with Day of the Dead, and their original demo. All remastered.
Although it is "remastered" I don't think it sounds much better than the original, at least the tracks from 'What Could Possibly Go Right?'.
This is good for those that don't have the originals of these, but if you do, you may as well skip it. Unless of course, you're one of those kind of people that like to have every release from bands you like, not unlike myself.

Cold World - Dedicated to Babies Who Came Feet First

DOWNLOAD

Tracklisting:
1. Intro
2. Boom Bye Bye
3. Do the Knowledge
4. All the Things You Said You'd Never Tell
5. Roaches and Rats
6. Leave a Message 1
7. Dedicated to Babies Who Came Feet First
8. No Angels
9. How Deep
10. Leave a Message 2
11. The Games That People Play
12. Whagwan (Feat. Warrior Queen)
13. Liars, Thieves
14. Time to Break Down
15. Outro

Cold World's Deathwish debut saw them taking more of a direction towards 90's NYHC in the vein of Life of Agony and Crown of Thornz, rather than the Youth-Crew-ish sound they had on Ice Grillz. This record has got more samples and a much more obvious Hip-Hop influence.

Funny sidenote, the drummer, Nick Woj, recently revealed in the Deathwish Inc. podcast that other than just 90's Hip-Hop, he digs shoegaze like My Bloody Valentine. Never would've thunk it.

Pressvre - Beasts

DOWNLOAD

Tracklisting:
1. What's Left to Scream About
2. You Alone
3. Built Up to Nothing
4. ...And They Wait
5. A Dull Spark
6. M.F.C

From Pressvre's Last.fm:

They may not have the most original name ever, but LA’s Pressure does a hell of a job making some wicked pissed off punk-hardcore. ‘You Alone’ and ‘And They Wait’ are a couple of the more vitriolic diatribes against the church I’ve heard in awhile and they’re awesome. A little Motorhead, a little Bad Brains, and some nice 180 gram vinyl ties this sucker together, the weight of which is fittingly as heavy as this band.

Crime in Stereo - Selective Wreckage

Tracklisting:
1) (Panned Auras)
2) Everywhere And All The Time
3) Desertbed
4) Love
5) When The Women Come Out To Dance
6) Takbir
7) The Bride
8) Four X's
9) These People Ought To Know Who We Are And That We Are Here
10) Let Me Take You Out

So this is a collection of material recorded between The Troubled Stateside and Is Dead. Not nearly as catchy as Is Dead. If you liked The Troubled Stateside, I'm pretty sure you'll like these 10 tracks.

Cannibal Ox - The Cold Vein

DOWNLOAD

Tracklisting:
1. Iron Galaxy
2. Ox Out the Cage
3. Atom
4. A B-Boy's Alpha
5. Raspberry Fields
6. Straight Off the D.I.C.
7. Vein
8. The F-Word
9. Stress Rap
10. Battle For Asgard
11. Real Earth
12. Ridiculoid
13. Painkillers
14. Pigeon
15. Scream Phoenix (Bonus Track)

This album generally heralded as one of the best Independent Hip-Hop albums, ever. Yes, the first track, "Iron Galaxy" was on Tony Hawk's Underground and it kicked ass, much like the game.

P.S.
Sorry for uploading to RS. It was just barely too large for Mediafire and I'm too lazy to make split-archives.

Eyehategod - Dopesick

DOWNLOAD

Tracklisting:
1. My Name is God (I Hate You)
2. Dog's Holy Life
3. Masters of Legalized Confusion
4. Dixie Whiskey

7. Lack of Almost Everything
8. Zero Nowhere
9. Methamphetamine
10. Peace Thru War (Thru Peace and War)
11. Broken Down, But Not Locked Up
12. Anxiety Hangover

One of my favorite albums from one of my favorite Sludge bands. And I think that's Chuck D of Public Enemy in the background on "Peace Thru War (Thru Peace and War)". If anyone could confirm whether or not it is, that'd be wikkid awsum.

Touché Amoré - Demo

DOWNLOAD

Tracklisting:
1. Negotiating the Charade
2. Huckleberry
3. WeHateFredPhelps.com
4. Broken Records
5. Hipsterectomy
6. Changing Lanes
7. Scene is to Be Seen
8. Denying Horizons

Great new band out of LA. I really don't know how to describe their sound, so give the tracks on their MySpace a listen.

Brainfreeze - Demo 07

DOWNLOAD

Tracklisting:
1. Intro
2. Fed Up
3. Mind Game
4. Drop
5. For Myself
6. You're A Joke
7. Full of it
8. L.Y.L
9. No Time

Musically it's similar to War Hungry with some thrashy parts, kinda like Sabertooth Zombie. Vocally, it reminds me of 80's Youth-Crew Hardcore.

Sabertooth Zombie - Dent Face

DOWNLOAD

Tracklisting:
  1. Campaign
  2. Deep
  3. Dent Face
  4. Untitled
  5. Meal Ticket
  6. This Young Earth
  7. That Fleeting Feeling
One of STZ's two releases from 2008, and my favorite of the two. "Meal Ticket" is a great fucking track, much like the rest of the album. As always it features some great lyrics and Cody's fucked up voice. I still don't get how that voice comes out of him.

  7. I've Got Piano
  8. Katie's Conscience

Imagine mother fucking Tim Kinsella singing for American Football rather than Mike and mix in a good measure of Cap'n Jazz influences and you get Algernon Cadwallader.

End of A Year - Sincerely
These guys also just recently signed onto Deathwish. I'm absolutely in love with this album. For fans of Cap'n Jazz, Embrace, Life at These Speeds, and Rites of Spring.

Taken from RevHQ:
"As part of the Albany music scene well known for its hardcore and metal, and veterans of heavy bands themselves, End Of A Year wanted to take it in a different direction. Inspired by the Revolution Summer period of the Washington, D.C. hardcore scene (ie. Rites Of Spring, Marginal Man, Gray Matter), End Of A Year decided that it is possible to be loud and honest while being tuneful. The music became a natural outgrowth of that position - melodic and, at times, pleasant but always gritty and married to a punk sensibility."

Sabertooth Zombie - Midnight Venom

Info, taken from RevHQ
Northern California's Sabertooth Zombie land themselves somewhere between '80s thrash metal and modern chugging hardcore, with members of Life Long Tragedy in tow. "Midnight Venom" is eighteen tracks in total with plenty of guitar leads and demented vocals.

MF Doom - Special Herbs, Vol. 1 & 2

Torrented this a while ago and just gave it a listen last week. I've been listening to it all the time since then. The Special Herbs Box Set is instrumental versions of Doom's songs, which in my opinion, is the best part.

I'll probably upload volumes 3 & 4 tomorrow or later today.

Trapped Under Ice - Stay Cold

Trapped Under Ice's Reaper Records debut is one mean EP. It's got a nice blend of the good shit from their demo, but it sounds fresh and better, in my opinion. It even features some guest vocals from PG County's own Anton Rough. If you liked their demo, check this out for sure.

Hopefully I'll be picking a copy of this up on Saturday when I see them at the release show.

Ceremony

Really great Hardcore band from California's North Bay area. Two albums from them in this post. The first being their "full-length" out on Bridge Nine, entitled Violence, Violence. I don't know if it's really a full-length by other band's standards, considering it's 20 tracks long, but the longest track is nearly two minutes, and that's and instrumental intro.

Second album is Scared People, an EP which is 5 new tracks, and one Negative FX cover. The cover is quite different from what you'd expect, but good nontheless.

Cursed - One

Another favorite album. This time it's from Canadian Crust juggernauts, Cursed. This album is an absolute classic for any fan of heavy music in general. Definitely check out their newest album, III: Architects of Troubled Sleep, if you like this album.

Trash Talk - Walking Disease

Probably one of my favorite albums right now is Walking Disease by these guys. Really great stuff if you somehow managed to not have heard them by now. If that's the case, then if you like shit like Ceremony, chances are that you'll like these guys too.

Love is Red - The Hardest Fight

Pretty sweet Hardcore that's heavy, yet melodic somehow. Similar to Ruiner in that respect. Taken from their Myspace: "If Shai Hulud switched places with Terror and Comeback Kid switched places with Strongarm, it'd probably sound something like this."

Check out their MySpace and download their second full-length, The Hardest Fight.

If you like it, buy it from the link on their MySpace. You can get this cd and a tour poster, all for only six dollars, which is more than worth it.

American Nightmare - Background Music

One of my personal favorite Boston bands. American Nightmare (more commonly known as Give Up the Ghost) were one of the first Hardcore bands I got into. Sadly, they broke up a few years ago and have moved on. Vocalist Wes Eisold is now doing vocals for Some Girls, which just happens to have Justin Pearson in it as well.

Trapped Under Ice - Demo 2007

I’m going to see Trash Talk here in Baltimore on the 31st and I noticed on the flier that it said something about a band called Trapped Under Ice. I was bored that night, so I decided to look them up on the MySpace, and it’s safe to say that I was thoroughly impressed. I’m a huge Cold World fan(as if you can’t tell) and I’ve been looking for some similar stuff. And that’s exactly what I found in Trapped Under Ice.

Definitely check them out at their MySpace and either download the tracks from there or Mediafire.
